This cabin sits above Cane Creek Falls on the property of Camp Glisson in Dahlonega, Georgia. Glisson Retreat and Camp Center is owned by the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. We have owned the cabin since 2002. It was built in the Sixties. The cabin is rustic but quite comfortable except in the coldest months. It has a deck overlooking the creek and is surrounding by native flora and fauna. The stream is a Class 2 trout stream and Glisson has done a lot to restore the stability and beauty of the creek which was polluted for many years due to chicken farming and agriculture upstream.
Our children are all grown and following their own pursuits and we no longer have the time to regularly get away to our cabin. So we are offering it for sale. For North Georgia clergy, there is no lease charged for the land on which the cabin sits. For non-clergy, the camp will charge a small leasing fee. We are asking $60,000 for the cabin, which is financed through the Georgia Florida United Methodist Federal Credit Union. Some, but not all of the furniture will stay with the cabin. There is a local handyman, Robert Davis, who has done some excellent work refurbishing the cabin and he would like to continue that relationship with the new owners. Camp Glisson is a good landlord/neighbor. A security gate ensures that unwanted guests do not disturb the cabin.
